Welcome to Villa Lawenda

When we established Villa Lawenda, we wanted to combine the love of saving historic buildings with a desire to create a friendly, cosy place devoid of excessive formality.

We have saved a more than 100-year-old building from ruin in order to be able to share it with you. Our ambition has been to create a feel-good atmosphere here for young and old alike.

Lawenda is situated in the very heart of Kudowa Zdrój in the vicinity of Stołowe Mountains National Park. Słoneczna Street is a quiet place a bit off the beaten track, but it is in close proximity to other interesting destinations. Our villa has its own monitored car park. A smoking ban is in force throughout the premises.

Welcome to Willa Lawenda
Katarzyna & Wojciech

Hospitality since 1898.

We came to Kudowa Zdrój in 2004 and noticed a ruined house. It had an extremely attractive shape with interesting details. It belonged to the Workers Holiday Fund and had been abandoned for a number of years.

In 2005 a general overhaul got under way. We sought to restore the building's beauty, concealed beneath layers of oil-based paint and ruboleum. We retained the creaky wooden ceiling rafters and salvaged the nice wooden openwork stairs from beneath a layer of plywood. The balconies' wooden details were renovated as were the original wrought iron barriers.

Our quest for the building's history took us back to the 19th century. We learnt that from the very outset the building had been a guest-house called Villa Erika.

And so from Erika to Kryniczanka, as it was known in the Workers Holiday Fund era, we come to Villa Lawenda, which opened its doors to guests in 2008.

A garden of relaxation

In our large garden grow several splendid old trees. The most valuable is the Weymouth pine which is home to a black squirrel. In the morning guests are wakened by the singing of birds which love to visit this little corner.

In May, beautiful rhododendrons grace the buildings entrance. A bit later, the lilies and hydrangeas bloom as well as our trademark lavender, without which our garden just wouldn't be complete.

On hot summer days it's nice to relax on the deckchairs, play badminton or kick a football about. Youngsters can romp around at the playground and play in the sandpit.

Tasty breakfast

We invite our guests to the dining room for a tasty breakfast smörgåsbord.

Our guests may choose form a variety of delicious items: cereals with milk, smoked meats and cheeses, yoghurt and milk-based desserts as well as cakes. We take pains to ensure that there is never any shortage of fresh fruits and vegetables. We also offer a variety of baked goods delivered by local bakeries.

The beverages we serve include several varieties of tea, freshly brewed coffee and for the kids cocoa or traditionally – milk.

Attractions for youngsters

Lawenda is a kid-friendly place. In 2010 we captured first place in a competition for Family-Friendly Hotels in the guest-house category.

When planning our facility, we did not overlook a play area for our youngest guests. In warm weather they can frolic and romp to their hearts' content in the playground in our garden and all year round in the playroom just off the dining room.

We provide such infant-care amenities as baby cots, baby-changing tables, baby bath and bottle-warmers. There are colourful dishes, bibs and high chairs for slightly older children, so they can enjoy their meals in a pleasant atmosphere.

Bikes and sleighs are provided so kids can go on rides with their parents.

Sport and recreation

Fancy a bike ride, Nordic walking or sleighing? The necessary equipment is ready and waiting. Just ask about it at the reception. We will gladly inform you of the best places in the vicinity to pursue such pastimes.

Following a physical workout, we invite you to enjoy the sauna or relax with a good book in the recreation room.
